Refinery equipment from China to Malaysia

The Refinery And Petrochemical Integrated Development is part of the development of the Pengerang region in South Malaysia, Johor State, by the state-run Oil and Gas company PETRONAS.

The RAPID mega-project covers an area of 70 square kilometers and is split into numerous ‘packages’ that are run independently by EPC companies. RAPID features its own port where all heavy-lift cargo is directly delivered.

Dextra Industry and Transport handled in 2016 3 dedicated shipments of light and sensitive steel structure on a door-to-door basis from China to the RAPID site.

For this project, the main challenge was the short notice and timing allocated to expedite the steel structures and the ability to accommodate the RAPID site restrictions.
